Hey again! While season 31 had no patch notes as we have quite a few things cooking in the background, one of the first changes we’re ready to announce is the rework of a few gadgets that are already in the game, both to introduce a larger wealth of options to cover niche characters, but specially to make receiving a larger number of our gadgets an exciting experience.

Although these reworks won’t be available for some time, we wanted to give you all this notice in advance so you can avoid scrapping some potentially useful gadgets in the future! Our aim is for these to (hopefully) make their way into the game before the first war of season 32!

We are aware that more gadgets could use a rework, but with how hard they can be to acquire and how defining they can be in battles, we want to slow both ourselves and you all into a larger roster of viable gadgets.

Here are the changes, although keep in mind that these might not be final:

Reworks

Radioactive Carrot

Defenders are usually the ones with quite predetermined gadgets due to either requiring fast access to Taunt, which encourages the use of Horned Helmets, or already having it, allowing these Defenders to use Iron Jackets. While we do plan to introduce some competition for the Horned Helmets in the future, we’re reworking the Radioactive Carrot to better benefit speedier defenders or give better offensive potential to those that are counter-attack based without sacrificing too much on defensive stats, as Debuff Resistance currently underperforms for the more veteran players.

Equip 4This toon has+35% Debuff Resistance while above 50% Max Health, and +35% Defense while below. This toon has +30% Recovery. If equipped by a Defender, their attacks Leech 10% Health from their target enemy.

Squeaky Cleaner

While the Squeaky Cleaners do see some niche use, the way they currently work doesn’t really accomplish their intended functionality of Crowd Control protection effectively. We’re changing the way they work so that it is generally stronger, removing the Defender restriction, and changing the Stun protection to a similar behavior as Supertoon’s theme skill. With these changes, we believe that the gadget can see both Defensive uses for key characters that need to avoid being incapacitated early in battles, as well as allowing some more strategic uses when playing certain teams against unfavorable match-ups.

Equip 4-At the start of this toon’s turn, Cleanse a random debuff. If it’s a Defender, also remove Stun and Silence once.At the start of each of this toon’s turns, Cleanse 3 Stat Down or Special Stat Down. Until the end of each enemy’s first turn, whenever this toon is inflicted by Stun, Cleanse it.

BOOM-erang

As far as attacker gadgets go, we feel like the choice of gadgets is the least interesting overall, with certain toons getting pretty pigeon-holed into using certain gadgets. Since Boom-erangs are mostly unused, with this rework, we’re trying to introduce a generic offensive option to incentivize attackers to not default to Health Vacuums, as well as make an option that’s more synergistic with attackers that can perform reactive hits and assists to trigger the new set effect more often!

Equip 4Once per turn, whenever this toon is inflicted with a Stat Down, Cleanse 1 and inflict it on the attacking enemy. This toon has +15% Piercing. If equipped by an Attacker, this toon gains Attack Up whenever it attacks an enemy as well.

Alliance Wars Feedback

We’d like to let you know we are paying attention to your feedback regarding the changes we recently made to Alliance Wars, as well as other persistent issues with the mode. More specifically, while we can’t promise any dates at this moment, we are actively looking into improvements to the Matchmaking system, as well as fixes to the concurrent attacks issue.
