Hello everyone! We’re a bit late this time around, but we bring some exciting news with finalized reworks with some characters that just had their stats updated in the past, as well as finally a rework promised back in season 24, fully propping up the charming Heartthrob team.

We’re also listening to feedback and monitoring the performance of recently released themes in their respective game modes to keep the battlefields in check, but for this season we’re not doing standalone balance changes as we don’t want to jump the gun before both individual and alliance strategies take shape.
As you might have also noticed, we didn’t follow through with the changes to Omega Chungus that were proposed during Season 29, as when rethinking it in context of your feedback, we decided to follow in another direction. While the Galaxy-Spanning super Chungus will not receive changes during this season as well, we are going over changes that more accurately affect his problematic areas without hurting his viability. These may or may not come to fruition in the near future, but we just wanted to touch base on the subject!

The time of Myths

As some of you might have already seen in some of our other blog posts, this season features the first member of the Myths team, which feature creatures from different folktales, mythologies and legends. While Satyr Gabby scouts out the World of Mayhem before his team fully arrives, you can expect this team to play to the timelessness of their original inspirations. Here’s a look at their theme passive:

Team Looney Tunes

With a spring in their step, a pull of their bow and a high-speed inducing adversity to water, the Team Looney Tunes will be introduced this season as competitors of 4 different sports, each striving to be the best and earn some coveted awards.

Without spoiling too much of the newcomers, this team will revolve around completing conditions for each of the characters in order to get progressively better Medals, improving their abilities in transformative ways to turn them into a truly terrifying force!

Olympus Rising

Some of the Divines already received a second ascension in the form of the Pyramid team, Athena Petunia and Hermes Roadrunner are now joining them, this time in the height of mount Looneympus, as new Divines will join the fray to fill the ranks with a new take on some of the recurring themes that are not as appreciated by their Pyramid counterparts.

As such, the Olympus team will have their core revolving around efficient Revive skills and a large focus on properly manipulating their cooldowns through their new theme passive:

Making use of this frequent cooldown reduction, both the veteran Olympus members and the newcomers will be able to make use of very powerful skills with higher frequency, requiring a more precise gameplan from their enemies.

As the Divines now see 2 sub-themes, we’re also changing Anubis K-9 a bit and propping the Pyramid characters up with their own Theme Passive:

Reworks

Olympus

The focus of the rework and new additions for the Olympus team is giving the Divines a powerful presence as a defensive team, with active revives that can, in the case of no defeated allies, act as powerful alternative skills to help control the battlefield. As such, both when placed in Defense as well as in Offense, they remain a team with a wealth of powerful options that don’t require losing team members in battle to fully be able to benefit from their skills.

While these reworks should not change the playstyle of the characters, they aim to open a wealth of options and opportunities.

Athena Petunia

For Athena Petunia, we kept most of her design quite similar to the original, but gave it some more defensive weight. Now she’ll be able to handle a lot of Debuff cleansing for the Divine team, as well as keeping her passive healing to help her fellow Olympus deity, Hermes Road Runner.

Owl’s WisdomWhile this toon is in battle, the first time an ally is healed per each of its turns, grant it +5% Piercing for the rest of battle. If it’s divine, remove a Stat Up from all enemies.While this toon remains in battle, whenever a team member is attacked, remove a random Stat Up from all enemies. If that team member is a Divine toon, remove 2 Stat Up from all enemies instead.

Hermes Road Runner

While he was fast enough to chase the sun across the skies, Hermes Road Runner has always been a character with some noticeable weaknesses in his supporting capabilities, so this rework aims to directly rectify those. We’re redesigning his skills so that he becomes a much more capable healer and, since Athena Petunia is already helping him out with the additional healing, we’re giving some powerful teamwide defensive tools to him. You’ll also notice that Caduceus Aloft has been turned into a passive skill as to allow for more focused turns instead of having to waste all that extra speed on small utility skills.

Winged ReturnRevive a random ally at 50% Max Health, granting them 100% Turn Meter. Cleanse all Speed Down, gaining 2 Speed Up for the rest of battle.Complete Rework. Cooldown reduced from 4 to 3

This toon is Immune to Speed Down and Turn Meter reduction, and while it remains in battle, for each Divine team member, all enemies have +25% Resistance to Speed Up. Whenever an ally is Revived, unless Incapacitated, grant them 4 Speed Up and inflict all enemies with 2 Speed Down for 2 turns. If that ally is a Divine toon, grant them 3 Heal Over Time as well.
Olympus Theme Passive (New)After the end of their turn, Olympus toons reduce the Cooldown of a random active ability by 1 at the start of any other toon’s turns.

Pyramid

Comparatively to the Olympus changes, the Pyramid characters will undergo very small changes as they already have an identity and gameplan in place. Instead, we’re turning part of Anubis K-9’s Legendary skill into their Theme Skill, adding a new effect to Anubis and doing a small text clarification on Thoth Beaky.

Heartthrob

The Heartthrobs are being brought up to date, receiving modernized stats and bringing their skills to new standards. While this rework doesn’t change the identity of the team, we aimed to make it so that each character reaped more benefits from Charm, either for themselves or the team, and have two noteworthy additions: Playboy Penguin’s “Cute as a Penguin” now features taunt removal so that his teammates can go ahead and charm key targets, and Gentleman Pepe’s “Grand Gesture” now being able to Charm enemies when the skill is dodged (even multiple targets at once!) to better give the team coverage against opponents that heavily depend on dodge buffs or event the Alliance Wars regional Dodge buff.
