The Sea-Devil

  • Kelp Creepers damage scaling was modified
    • Deal (80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100)% damage to target enemy and 50% damage to the enemy with the highest Speed.
      • Damage scaling was (85 / 90 / 95 / 100 / 110).
  • Dreams of Shipwreck now grants Tenacity Up according to the number of Knowledge counters on the team
    • Gain Taunt and a Knowledge Counter. Gain Tenacity Up for 2 turns for each Knowledge Counter on your team, then inflict all enemies with (1 / 1-2 / 2 / 2-3 / 3) Speed Down for 2 turns.
      • Now grants a Knowledge counter.
      • Tenacity Up scaling substituted by counting Knowledge counters on the team.
  • Drag Below Speed Down duration scaling was modified
    • Whenever this toon hits an enemy or an enemy hits this toon, inflict that enemy with Speed Down for (1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / rest of the battle) turns.
      • Scaling was (1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5) turns.
  • Release the Smacken Cooldown reduced to 2 turns
    • Used to be 3 turns.
  • Barnacle Breaker updated to Barnacle Barricade
    • All enemies start the battle with Speed Down. While this toon is in battle, your team members have (5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 10)% Defense for each Speed Down on the attacking enemy.
      • This skill used to give extra damage to allies when hitting targets with Speed Down.
  • Archetype Passive updated from Hasty to Valiant Protector

Sea-Devil is a great toon, and had a solid place in any stall team, but lacked the best possible alignment with Egghead the Knowing and the primary magic team. To make her purpose clear, we gave her some interaction with Knowledge Counters and pushed her focus to value survival and enemy stall. She should be less dominant in a vacuum, but more valuable within a stall comp.

Egghead the Knowing

  • Fantastic Flame damage scaling and extra damage modified
    • Deal (80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100)% damage to target enemy, plus an extra 5% damage for each Knowledge counter on this toon.
      • Damage scaling was (85 / 90 / 95 / 100 / 110).
      • Extra damage was 25%.
  • Crystal Concoction name updated to Dry-roast Concoction
  • Skills obtained by accumulating Knowledge Counters no longer start with 1-turn warm up
    • This fix affects Word of Dwindling, Ashabod’s Bubble, Dry-roast Concoction and Banish.
  • New Legendary Leadership skill: Book of Warding
    • Whenever a Magic Team member gains a Knowledge counter, grant them Debuff Resistance Up for the rest of battle.

Egghead the Knowing is the centerpiece of the entire magic team, and he deserved a bit more attention. His gameplan generally consists of surviving as long as possible so that he can teach himself Banish and demolish the enemy team. For this, we had to make sure his basic attack wasn’t too dominant so you’d never want to use anything else. We also gave him a new ability that should keep his team protected for longer and make sure he’s kept safe as well.

Merlin Sam

  • Ash Cannon is now the basic attack
    • Gain a Knowledge Counter, then deal (65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 80)% damage to all enemies, inflicting Speed Down for (1 / 1 / 1 / 1 / 1-2) turns.
      • Grants a Knowledge counter.
      • Damage used to be 80% for all levels.
  • Fireball is now the starting skill
    • Gain a Knowledge Counter, dealing (110 / 120 / 130 / 140 / 150)% damage to target enemy. For each Knowledge Counter on this toon, inflict Damage Over Time for (1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / rest of the battle) turns.
      • Grants a Knowledge counter.
      • Damage Over time scales as this toon gains Knowledge.
      • Damage used to be 80% for all levels.
  • Total Eclipse now has an extra effect for Knowledge counters
    • Remove  (50 / 75 / 75 / 100 / 100)% Turn Meter from all enemies, inflicting 2 Speed Down. For each Knowledge Counter on this toon, gain (1 / 1 / 1-2 / 1-2 / 2) Attack Up for the rest of battle.
      • Now always inflicts Speed Down to the enemies.
      • Turn Meter now has scaling.
      • Grants Attack Up for each Knowledge counter.
  • Dragon Soul deals extra damage when hitting enemies with Speed Down
    • This toon deals an extra  (5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 10)% damage for each Speed Down on the target enemy. Whenever an enemy is defeated, gain  (1 / 1 / 1-2 / 1-2 / 2)% Attack Up for (1 / 1-2 / 1-2 / 2 / 2).
  • Unquenchable grants Resistance to Damage Over Time to Magic team members
    • This toon has +(50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 100)% Resistance to Silence and, while this toon is in battle, all Magic team members have +(50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 100)% Resistance to Damage Over Time.

Merlin Sam is an older toon with a great design that had sadly fallen out of use. We want him to be able to rejoin the mayhem with better skills and a clearer function within the team.

Farm

Ralph Wolf

  • Adjusted stats 
    • Attack increased by 10%.
    • Defense  increased by 8%.
    • Speed increased by 5%.
  • Overtime damage scaling modified and applies Defense Down
    • Deal (80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100)% damage to the target enemy, applying 2 Defense Down.
      • Damage scaling was (85-115 / 90-120 / 95-125 / 100-130 / 105-135).
  • Plan A was reworked
    • Gain (2 / 3 / 4 / Sure Critical / Sure Critical) Critical Chance Up and Hidden for (2 / 2 / 2 / 2 / 3) turns, plus 50% Turn Meter.
      • Used to give Attack Up and Dodge Chance Up.
  • Plan B was reworked
    • Deal (115 / 115 / 125 / 125 / 135)% damage to the target enemy with +(15 / 20 / 20 / 25 / 25)% Piercing. If this defeats the enemy, gain Sturdy.
      • Used to give Critical Chance Up and Hidden.
      • Defeating an enemy using Plan B grants Ralph Wolf Sturdy, which makes toon survive a hit that would defeat it.
  • Benefits heal scaling was modified and now grants Attack Up for all team members
    • Whenever this toon lands a critical hit, it heals for (35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 60)% heal-power and grants all team members Attack Up for 2 turns.
  • Written Up now triggers on any enemy hit and activates Overtime when Hidden.
    • Whenever this toon is hit, it gains (5 / 7 / 10 / 12 / 15)% turn meter. If this toon is Hidden, unless incapacitated, use Overtime against the attacking enemy.
  • Nemesis relationship with Sam Sheepdog
    • Replacing the Rivalry relationship with Sam Sheepdog.
  • Friendship relationship with Professional toons
    • Replacing the Friendship relationship with all Wile E Coyote.

This is an old promise that we’ve finally been able to execute. With Sam Sheepdog getting his place with the professionals’ boosts, it was only a matter of time before Ralph got some new toys as well. With better skills and stats, he should be much more viable than before.
