What’s up Doc! As we reach the midway point of our Laboratory of Mayhem takeover, we will be revisiting some of our Horrors of the night, so those Unlikely Heroes really have their work cut out for them. And bringing them to the modern age, we’re also doing minor reworks to the Prehistoric team to bring them back up to speed.
We’d also like to thank everyone’s participation in last month’s Team Rework Poll, which turned out was pretty overwhelmingly in support of fully introducing the House Party team, featuring the OGs Granny, Tweety, Sylvester, and Hector! While we don’t have anything to show just yet, we’re hard at work to make that happen still during this year!
To prop up healthier competition in the future, we’ll also be doing some balance changes to Babyface Finster, as the innocent looking definitely not dangerous baby has shown time and again that he’s a force to be reckoned with. We’re also taking this opportunity to better explore our options with the entire Gangster team, but nothing to announce in that front just yet.
Finally, during this season, we’ll be introducing the Wildcard theme. We’ll go into further detail in a bit, but we’re also bringing some powerhouses from the past back as part of it, as well as having some of our newer-ish toons moved into it.

Rabbit Duck Wildcard Season
The Wildcard theme is being introduced this season, and will feature both newly released and older characters that are nkt necessarily part of any team but do have viability amongst many of them. These toons, we hope, will be making their way in a variety of teams, as their design allows them greater flexibility in either supporting or countering certain strategies. While they weren’t designed to specifically synergize with any given team, they should be able to slot-in almost anywhere as, well, wildcards.
While we’re mostly giving this theme to pretty unused toons, we’re not building Wildcard as a team itself and this does not mean a Wildcard character won’t be moved to a team eventually (nor that they will, either). As powerful standalone slot-ins, they should already have a home for them among any team, whenever the opportunity presents itself.
For this season, we’re moving over Big Chungus, Raider Lola, Scarlet Pumpernickel, and Birthday Suit Tweety, as well as updating their stats and skills!
Since they don’t have a unified mechanic, their Theme Skill grants them general special stats to reflect their generalist nature:

Ralph the Vampire
To our lupine vampire, we’re granting a more heavy-handed weight to his attack stat so he can better threaten current defenders as well as better make use of his critical Bloodlust. He’s also receiving additional protection with a Silence effect in Mostly Immortal to better combat other area of effect attacks going around Hidden.

Dr. Frankenbeans
The mad doctor has done it again! Dr. Frankenbeans will be seeing an increase in his survivability through bolstered defensive stats, as well as a longer Hidden duration in It’s Aliiive! Tweetyosaurus Rex
As the leader of the Prehistoric team, we’re giving Tweetyosaurus better support in granting Frenzy for his team through buffs to Primal Instinct and Extra Sharp Teeth, as well as improving his Speed considerably so that he’s often in the fray. We’re also adding a warm-up to Cenozoic Stomp, as we’ve done with other updated area of effect attacks.

Roadius Runnerus
Roadius Runnerus is not seeing many large changes besides the added warm-up to Clever Bird, as we’ve found that the increased attack stat already makes him benefit a lot more from frenzy when paired with his road-running speed. As such, we’re just turning the knobs a little bit to compensate for adjustments in his teammates.

Casper is seeing a large increase in his overall resilience to hopefully extend the time before his Sturdy needs to be active, as well as seeing a small tweak in Here, Fido! to only cleanse Stat Downs as part of modernizing his kit and directing him to better target Stat Downs, since his team isn’t as affected by Special Stat Downs.

Balance Changes
Babyface Finster
Babyface Finster has been a staple in both Defense and Offense whenever he’s been made available in the Arena roster due to the power of his arena mode specific skill Strictly Business. We’re toning down the skill both in frequency and which buffs it can remove so it no longer disables Defender’s Taunt nor other more unique buffs like Hidden. While the skill should remain powerful, it shouldn’t completely overtake battles on its own.
