Hey Loonerinos! By now you’ve probably heard about a new feature in the works called Gizmos and we’re thrilled to officially reveal what they are all about.

This new feature will add a deeper layer of progression, giving you more control, more customization, and more ways to define your playstyle. Let’s break it all down and take a closer look at how Gizmos work.

What are Gizmos?

Gizmos are craftable items that can be equipped and upgraded to unlock new bonuses and abilities in battle. Unlike Gadgets, which can be equipped on any toon, Gizmos are unique to each character and can only be used by that specific toon.
Each toon can have up to 3 Gizmos, but they can only use 1 Gizmo at a time, giving you the flexibility to experiment with different strategies.
Toons unlock their first Gizmo when they reach Level 20, with the second one unlocking at Level 40, and the third one at Level 60.

Note: Gizmos aren’t available for every toon just yet. We’ll be rolling them out in phases. At launch, all Citizen and Wildcard toons, along with all upcoming teams, will have Gizmos.

What kind of benefits do Gizmos offer?

Once equipped, a Gizmo can boost a toon’s stats, grant powerful passive effects, or unlock new active abilities in battle. Each Gizmo is unique and designed to amplify a toon’s current abilities in new and exciting ways.

Let’s look at Bugs Bunny’s Gizmos for a better understanding:

1Bag of CarrotsThis toon has +10% Max Health and, whenever it Silences or Stuns an enemy, heals for 12% Max Health.
2Spiked ClubThis toon has +10% Speed and +10% Damage.
3Explosive AnvilBefuddle lowers the Max Health of any Elmer, Daffy or Marvin toon by 10% Max Health and has a +100% chance of inflicting Stun on any non-Elmer, Daffy, or Marvin toon as well.

How do I access a toon’s Gizmos?

What are the three states of a Gizmo?

Once Gizmos become available for your toons, they’ll be visible as Blueprints on their profiles. For a toon to reap the benefits of a Gizmo, you’ll have to first craft one and then equip it on them.

  • Blueprint: The Gizmo is available but hasn’t been forged into reality.
  • Crafted: The Gizmo is built but is inactive.
  • Equipped: The Gizmo is activated and boosting your toon.

Crafting Gizmos

You’ll need to collect crafting materials to craft a Gizmo from its blueprint state. Crafting materials usually include a mix of Coins and Gizmo Parts.

Equipping Gizmos

Once a Gizmo has been crafted, you’ll see an option to equip it. A toon can only equip one Gizmo at a time, so you can pick the one that suits your strategy. Equipping a Gizmo is free but unequipping and switching to a different one comes with a cost.

How do I upgrade Gizmos?

A Gizmo will be in Tier 1 when it is first crafted and can be sequentially upgraded to Tier 2 and Tier 3 to enhance its benefits. Upgrading Gizmos involves a cost and it’s usually a mix of Coins and Gizmo Parts.

Each tier is represented by a different color:

Simply navigate to a toon’s profile and click on Edit Gizmos to view your options and upgrade.

What are Gizmo Parts and where can I find them?

Gizmo Parts are a new currency and you’ll need them to craft and upgrade Gizmos. You can earn them by winning Gauntlet battles and progressing through its milestones and leaderboards.

In the future, you’ll also be able to obtain them through mini events, quest progressions, and in-app purchases.

Gizmo Parts come in multiple variants:

Common Gizmo Part
Superior Gizmo Part
Pristine Gizmo Part

That’s all folks! We’re excited to see how Gizmos change the game and which ones end up becoming your favorite. While we continue to monitor things to ensure fair balance, we hope you enjoy experimenting with them and discovering new ways to play. Happy Mayhem-ing!
