Hey Loonerionos! It’s taken us quite a long time to get here, but we’re finally addressing a long-standing bug with our Debuff Resistance and Tenacity stats.
We’ve raised the cap on Debuff Resistance and Tenacity from 100% to 300%! As you know, Tenacity and Debuff Resistance have always worked against each other, with Tenacity canceling out Debuff Resistance due to it being directly subtractive in our combat calculations, but because both were hard capped at 100%, there wasn’t much room left for meaningful play or strategy once that ceiling was reached. This made the defensive impact of Resistances feel negligible, giving you fewer reasons to invest in both Debuff Resistance and Tenacity in that scenario.
For instance, if a toon had 85% Debuff Resistance from boosts and gadgets and 100% Silence Resistance from a passive skill, the toon would technically have 185% Total Resistance against Silence, but due to Resistance being capped at 100%, it would be ineffective against someone with 100% Tenacity, causing the toon to be Silenced every time even though it should have had only a 15% chance to be Silenced.
Going forward, Resistance effects will have more weight in battle while higher Tenacity will overcome those resistances effectively, allowing for fresh counterplay strategies. You can also look forward to more kinds of Resistances that will add a fresh spin to your battles.
We apologize for delaying this bug fix and for delaying its announcement. As you would have already seen, the change is live in the game. Stay assured that we will be releasing a whole bunch of reworks soon to accommodate for this. There is no fixed date for when these reworks will be out, but you can expect to see them rolling in soon. Additionally, because the fix was released ahead of the associated reworks, we will be temporarily removing Supertoons from the current Arena Championship season.
Of course, we’ll be closely monitoring all of this in the coming months and will be making changes to skills as required. For now, you can find the planned reworks down below. As always, they might not be the final version and are subject to change.
