Hey Loonerinos, wish you all a very happy New Year! We know we’re a bit late on releasing the patch notes for Season 36, but they’re finally here! Let’s get right into it.

To kick things off, we have two new teams joining in on the mayhem this season. The unrelenting Iceborne team and the unforgiving Viking team. Both will feature newly released and older characters who’ve been reworked to fulfill the purpose of better synergy and function.

‘Tis the Season to be Freezin’!

Coming this season, we have the Iceborne, a chilling force of nature that is not to be messed with. Led by Hugo, the team will include Yeti Gossamer, and two new frosty members, with Hugo and Yeti Gossamer having undergone substantial changes to better align with the team. Without spoiling too much, this team will revolve around Chilly, using it both as a weapon and a boon. While Chilly debuffs their enemies, it empowers the team, making them a formidable force in battle. 

Beware of the chill, for where the Iceborne tread, only frost and ruin remain. Here’s a sneak peek into their theme passive:

The Viking Age

Coming from the land of the ice and snow, the Vikings are here to raid the World of Mayhem. Joining Lola Frostbane are three new and fierce fighters, ready to storm the battlefield and claim glory with all the ancient might of the Norse. Incorporated into their theme passive is a new and unique mechanic that has the capacity to leave enemies Wounded. Here’s what you can expect:

Theme Passive:
Viking toon’s attacks inflict Chilly and, whenever they damage an enemy, Wounded (up to 5 max). Wounded is a permanent Special Debuff that reads “This toon has -25% Recovery, Damage Immunity Block, and attacks against this toon deal 3% Max Health damage for each stack of Wounded this toon has.”

As one of the very first Legendary toons in the World of Mayhem, Hugo is finally stepping forth to lead his very own team of icy creatures. For this purpose, he has undergone significant changes that will allow him to fit better into the shoes of a worthwhile Leader and Attacker. While inflicting Chilly is still one of his top priorities, he’s now better equipped to deal Damage and apply Debuffs that disrupt the enemy’s Defenses, Recovery, and Speed. His new leadership quality perfectly complements the team’s theme passive, ensuring better outcomes and synergy with Iceborne members. Let’s see the changes:

Snow Giant (New Leadership Skill)While this toon remains in battle, Iceborne team members heal for 10% Max health whenever they inflict Chilly, and for each Iceborne team member, enemies have -15% Chilly Resistance and -15% Freeze resistance.
Iceborne Theme Passive (New)Iceborne toons are Immune to Freeze and their attacks inflict Chilly.

Yeti Gossamer

In order for Yeti Gossamer to shine as the Defender for the Iceborne, we’ve reworked his abilities to make him more assertive in battle. With a stronger stance that is enhanced by his new team’s theme passive, he’ll be able to shield and support both himself and his team better, and react proactively to enemy attacks. One of his more notable upgrades include the ability to remove Turn Meter from enemies who are Chilled or Frozen. Let’s go through his changes in detail:

Gale CallerWhenever this toon would be Frozen, deal 45% damage to all enemies, inflicting Chilly.Whenever an enemy becomes Frozen, heal for 20% Max Health. Whenever an enemy loses Frozen, gain 2 Defense Up. While in Alliance Wars, this toon has +10% Attack for each stack of Chilly it has.
Yeti BreathCleanse all Chilly from all allies. Heal your team for 55% heal-power with +5% heal-power for each Chilly removed.Warmup increased from 0 to 1 and Cooldown reduced from 3 to 2

Grant all team members 3 Defense Up for 2 turns and inflict all enemies with 3 Attack Down for 2 turns. Inflict Chilly on all toons, then for each Chilly in battle, heal all team members for 1% Max Health.

Viking

Lola Frostbane

The Viking team needed a strong character to counterbalance the dynamics within the group and Lola Frostbane was the perfect choice to fill that gap considering her Chilly past. While her skills haven’t undergone a major overhaul, they have been tweaked to enable better support and synergy overall. Let’s take a look:
